A first version of your app, scoped for a 2–4 week build.
We help founders and teams turn an idea into a working product its first users can try. We define a focused first version that fits a 2–4 week build, and confirm the schedule once the scope is agreed.
Build what you need to learn, then the rest
A first version contains the essential features needed to test the product with its intended users before building further. We clarify the problem, intended users and essential features for the first release.
What fits in a 2–4 week build
If your idea needs more, the first version is a smaller part of it, and we help you choose which part to build first.
Usually fits
- One main user journey
- One type of user, plus an admin view
- Data you already have or can enter by hand
- A web app that works in a phone's browser
Usually waits
- Features nobody has asked for yet
- Several user types with different rights
- Integrations that can be done by hand at first
- A native app for the App Store or Google Play
What we need from you
- Someone who can decide on scope
- Access to the first users or their feedback
- Any content, data or brand assets
Scope first, then build

duo, live two days after we started
duo is a meal and workout tracker we built for two people, as a phone app. The first version went live after two days of building: sign-in by email code, meals logged by AI chat or photo, barcode scanning and workouts. The scope was one daily routine for two users, which is what made two days possible; the next features come from how they use it. Helix, beside it, is the members' app of a Bordeaux music collective: events, votes on artists and the shared accounts, in one place.
Questions about a first version
How long does an MVP take?
We scope the first version to fit a 2–4 week build, and confirm the schedule once the scope is agreed.
What if my idea needs more than that?
Then the first version is a smaller part of it, and we help you choose which part to build first.
What happens after launch?
After launch, we can help your team improve it as real needs emerge.
Who owns the code?
You do. The code and the repository are yours at handover, with documentation for the work delivered.
Can you build a mobile app?
A first version is a web app that works in a phone's browser and can be added to the home screen. A native app can come later, once the first version has shown what its users need.
